Last season Newcastle fans were bitching that West Ham had spent more than Newcastle.
Don't forget a number of these teams have sold players or have just got promoted so have more room in their wage budgets.
We still have Jarvis Zarate and Carroll and only just got shot of Nolan and Maiga.
Andy Carroll is a significant investment, one bigger than those clubs you are complaining about.
So if you want to get annoyed, get annoyed at the mismanagement of our transfer funds and revenues .

Great planning by the owners. Keep focusing on the new stadium.

I note (to my horror) that you have included not only Noble but also CRESSWELL in that list of talented players.
Go and stand in the corner, and have a think about what you've done.

Spending big dollars does not automatically lead to success. In fact, there are examples of that occurring within our own club over the years as well as many examples within our competitors.
Wise a shrewd investment is the best approach and this needs to be supported by significant, on-going investment in the academy. We are in a rebuilding phase, post Allardyce, and in his era the academy was almost neglected, as we all know. His purchases in the main were tactical, not strategic as the initial season under him was all about bouncing back.
We have a clutch of talented players, Adrian, Reid, Cresswell, Tomkins, Noble, Kouyate, Carroll(if he ever returns to full fitness) Sakho and Valencia. These have been augmented by Payet, Ogbanna,Obiang this season and we have 5 or 6 good prospects coming out of our Academy.
We lack depth and bringing in a couple of one year loanee's as we have done with Jenkinson, should see us being competitive. If we are suffering in any position we have the January window in which to conduct further business.
I am happy at the moment with the squad and hopefully we can strategically grow some more prior to next season.
